How To Install A Bathroom Mirror
- Tools You Will Need
- Measuring Tape
- Level
- Screwdriver or Drill
- Pencil
Most bathroom mirrors come with mounting brackets or clips that can be attached to the wall using a screwdriver or drill. Check to see whether your mirror has installation clips. If not measure the thickness of the mirror's glass and go to the local hardware store and purchase some mounting clips which will fit the measurement.
When you are ready to install the mirror, you will need to consider where you want to place it. Most mirrors are centered over the sink and bathroom cabinetry, these are also known as the vanity. Decide what the height of the bottom of the mirror will be from the vanity. Mark this height. Using your level, create a straight horizontal line that is longer than the width of the mirror and vanity. Check to see that the line is an equal height from the vanity.
Measure both your mirror and vanity. Mark on the pencil line both the vanity length and mirror length. Use a level to check and make sure the edge of the vanity has lined up with your vanity marks on the pencil line. Make sure to center the mirror marks in-between the vanity marks.
Use your level to draw a straight vertical line from both lower mirror marks. Measure the height of the mirror and mark the vertical lines accordingly. Check your work to make sure the distance between the top clip marks is the same as the bottom.
Using a drill or screwdriver install the clips on the mirror marks.
Install the mirror by sliding it up into the top two clips and then easing it into the two lower clips.
