How to clean a bathroom mirror
Are you finding that your bathroom mirror has residual scum buildup that you just can't seem to get rid of? Have you tried to use Windex and other glass cleaning agents to no avail? There are a few traditional remedies to deal with that dirty mirror which you may find more effective. First try to identify what sort of residue has built up. If it is a stubborn old coating of dirt and dust, use a stronger detergent or dish soap to scrub the mirror and then wipe it down with a mixture of vinegar and water. You can also use an ammonia and water mixture. Of course do not mix ammonia and bleach, always pay attention to which chemicals you are using. Finally rinse and then dry the mirror using a microfiber cloth. Avoid paper towels or anything that will leave particles behind. If you find that a buildup is still there it could be a hard water stain. Use a powerful cleaner like Limeaway or even CLR however; make sure to take preventative steps to avoid getting cleaner on the walls or counter as you may find a dis-colorization occurs. Once again rinse the mirror and do a thorough job as such cleaners are chemically powerful and toxic. For a simple rinse solution use a blend of water and lemon juice. Traditional methods have also involved using newspaper to buff and shine a mirror, the lead ink worked as a shining agent. Unfortunately this process no longer works due to environmental restrictions on lead based ink.
